Ñ Open the "place contents in System Folder" folder and drag the contents to your System Folder. If you do not have a Power Macintosh, do not copy the QuickTime¬ PowerPlug extension. Restart your computer and you will be ready to run Focus for Success.
Additional Features
Ñ Focus automatically sets the bit depth of your monitor to 256 colors. This improves the speed of graphics but may make some of the digital video appear grainy. If you would like to improve the quality of the video but sacrifice some speed, set your monitor bit depth to Thousands or greater in the Monitors control panel. When you run Focus, hold down the option key until the first screen appears to bypass the automatic switch to 256 colors. Note: Playing the games in Chapter 5 with monitors set to greater than 256 colors is not recommended.
Ñ There is no on-screen volume control available during the introductory video, however you can control the sound level by pressing a number on the keyboard.
Troubleshooting
Ñ From the Finder, select About This Macintosh from the Apple menu. If the largest unused block is less than 3072K, you may experience problems running Focus. To make more memory available, temporarily remove any unnecessary System Extensions or Control Panels from your system folder. In addition, close all open windows in the Finder (Command-Option-W will do this quickly) and then restart.
If you cannot free up enough memory, then you can try turning on virtual memory. Focus will run slow with virtual memory turned on, and it is recommended that you turn it off unless you have a critically low memory situation. Make any virtual memory setting changes in the Memory control panel, then restart your computer.
Ñ Quit all unnecessary applications before running Focus for Success.
